FAQ

About Legacy Logix

  • Legacy Logix is both a professional services company and a software company. We have built a proprietary platform to assist our fiduciaries to help manage and monitor your estate portfolio. That same software is designed to give you unprecedented access to your Estate portfolio with insights, monitoring, and alerts. The software is also built to allow you to share all or part of your portfolio with key Estate stakeholders and to give them access only at the appropriate time.

  • No. While we will act as a fiduciary to fulfill our obligations to you, Legacy Logix is not a legal service and will not make suggestions or changes to your Estate plan (e.g., your trust documents, etc.). Legacy Logix will, at most, make suggestions of action that appear needed and appropriate and will always suggest you get your legal counsel or other appropriate financial partners involved in executing changes to your Estate.

Data and Privacy

  • Your data will be encrypted at rest (while stored in our database) and in-flight (when being transmitted over the internet). Nobody can access your data other than you, and a Legacy Logix assigned fiduciary who may be working with you on your account. Legacy Logix employees who do not have a signed Fiduciary Agreement won't have access (see below). The most significant risk to someone accessing your data will often be the security you use to access your account. We recommend but don't force you to use unique and complex passwords or 2-factor authentication. Please don't reuse your Legacy Logix password for non-Legacy Logix accounts. These are some of the best mechanisms for you to protect your data. We put the Fiduciary working on your account through special training to eliminate the risk of phishing or other social engineering attacks, which are the most common form of data vulnerability, not blackhats directly hacking databases. In fact, we'd rather you get irritated with us because we add a few minutes to identify and verify you than to have you mad at us because we allowed your data to be accessed.

  • We have gone to great lengths to protect your information, and make it available exclusively you and your delegates. Your interactions will be with a subset of our employees who will act as your fiduciary, just like your accountant, financial planner/advisor, or lawyer. These individuals will only look at your data while performing work for you and will never share that information with anyone, including other Legacy Logix employees. Your Legacy Logix fiduciary is trained specifically for this job and must sign our Fiduciary Agreement, which you can review.

  • Yes. When you give someone access to your Estate Portfolio, you will be allowed to control what parts of your Portfolio they can see, what they can do (e.g., view versus update), and when (e.g., before my death or only after). For example, you might provide read and download access to your Durable Power of Attorney for Health to your children but no access to your underlying Trust document for these same people until you have passed away.

  • No. As your lawyer or accountant would never sell your data, neither will we. This is your data, and we are acting as a fiduciary on your behalf.

  • Yes. If you decide Legacy Logix is not for you and decide to cancel your account, your data will be removed. Please understand that once your data is removed, we cannot recover it for your use or for reactivating your account.

Product

  • Yes. You can add any type and number of Estate documents to your account. If you have a more sophisticated Estate plan, including documents like an irrevocable or special needs trust, these can be added as well. Supplemental documents that support the Grantors and are typically created by Estate lawyers, such as medical or financial power of attorney or health directives, can be added as well.

  • Legacy Logix uses industry-standard tools such as Plaid and MX to allow you to give Legacy Logix access to specific account information while assuring you remain in control of your accounts. Legacy Logix will only be able to see the information you authorize us to see. Legacy Logix will never be able to interact and change anything in these accounts. And you can remove Legacy Logix's read-only access at any time.

Service and Support

  • Our goal is to provide excellent support and make you feel that we are providing you with a service you love and can recommend to others. While our support hours are between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. Pacific time, we will attempt to monitor our support channels constantly, and we'll do our best to get back to you as quickly as possible if we can't respond in real time.

  • We seek to make it as easy to set up and maintain your account as it is to hand off your tax documents to your accountant every year. You provide us with the underlying documents, and we will do all of the work to pull out and organize the information for you and your Estate stakeholders.
